Job Duties: Under the general direction of the Technology and Customer Services Supervisor, this position requires independent judgment in managing the design and development of the Department's websites, email communication strategies and other digital marketing channels. This position will work with website designers and developers as the project manager for usability and content on websites targeting leisure travelers, various group travel market segments, and the tourism industry. The web and digital marketing specialist will work with Department of Tourism marketing, public relations and social media staff and the advertising agency of record to integrate marketing programs across digital channels and coordinate a content strategy. This position will be responsible for end-result measurement and reporting for web and digital marketing.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of web development tools and processes and web design principles. Coursework or training in marketing, communications, or related field and practical experience in digital marketing or web project management. Experience coordinating web marketing projects and vendors. Experience with digital communications platforms including email. Conversant in SEO, web analytics, web technology, mobile campaigns, community engagement and the concepts of creative branding. Understanding of integrated communication and marketing strategies and brand development. Experience developing and nurturing internal and external relationships to reach a common vision. Ability to provide outstanding customer service, planning and initiating creative solutions to meet customer needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong critical thinking and analysis skills. Proficiency in Microsoft office products.

Salary: The starting salary will be up to $22.00 per hour depending upon qualifications, plus benefits. A six-month probationary period is required. Pay range and schedule: 07-04.
