PROGRAM AND POLICY ANALYST

You will be joining a highly experienced staff at a public health laboratory within the wonderful academic setting of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The position is located at 2810 Walton Commons West Madison, WI 53718.
Job Duties:
This position works independently on all aspects of the daily operations of the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses and the Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries portion of the BLS contract. This position will conduct research studies on statistical information derived from the BLS OSH survey and CFOI data and analyze and publish research statistics on BLS, OSH, and CFOI studies as appropriate.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Extensive skill and ability in complex comprehensive policy analysis and related research, program planning, program evaluation and related financial activities

Ability to evaluate multiple performance standard measures

Skill in the following: survey development, process improvement, analysis and implementation, mediation and collaborative effort techniques

Extensive knowledge of the following: the coding principles involved in US DOL BLS CFOI programs, e.g., industry, occupation, nature of injury or illness, part of body affected, source of injury or illness, type of accident or exposure and worker activity, the OSHA recordkeeping system of measuring and recording work injury and illness, statistical methods, survey design and related US DOL BLS CFOI operating manuals and guidelines governing the BLS CFOI.

Knowledge of the following: BLS QCEW program and computer system, quality assurance principles and practices, data visualization, graphics display and statistical presentation tools for preparation of records, reports and documentation of quality assurance activities, research methods, principles and practices

Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
